Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaiwhakahaere Aromatawi Matua - Senior Exams Coordinator on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the delivery of examination requirements for students, and establishment of the timetable.
  • Coordinating the end-to-end examination process, including storage and dispatch of papers pre and post examinations.
  • Coordinating the annual recruitment, training and supervision of examination assistants and examination invigilators.
  • Facilitating collaboration with key staff within the University to ensure smooth running of exam services, including reporting on examination related processes and issues.
  • Coordinating the examination processes for Aegrotats.
  • Participation in University initiatives that enhance and develop examination services.

You will:

  • Be motivated, detail-focused and enjoys working in a busy, multi-task and multi-system environment.
  • Remain calm under pressurised conditions.
  • Be champion in effective time management and forward planning.
  • Display highly competent administration skills and be able to work methodically and keep on-task till the work is completed.
  • Be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team.
  • Ideally be experienced within a tertiary environment and/or with a timetabling system such as Syllabus Plus or CMIS.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work to a very high standard of accuracy, with an appreciation of the importance of data integrity.
  • Expertise to proactively manage time and tasks in a fast-pace and open-plan environment.
  • Familiarity with working in a large organisation supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to communicate and build effective relationships with a wide range of colleagues, users, and stakeholders.
